And I also added the Hint function which will show the action description when you are doing the gesture.
Congratulation to the creator!
But their is a little problem : you can set the actions for "this application" but not for "all programms but this one". It's really annoying for a lot of programms (games, where you use often the right click; painting programms for the same reason...).

Is there an option to configure that? Will it be add for a next patch? Does other software like this one have this capacity?

Thanks in advance for any answer

Great job on finishing your application! I read the help section on the site and was blown away by what you've accomplished. I will download it tomorrow and try it out. I've went back to using StrokeIt since the developer updated it to work on Windows 7, but if yours works well (which with your skills as a dev, I'm confident it will) then I'll make the switch. Anyways, very happy to see your application come to fruition. Keep up the awesome progress!

Regarding High Sign being dead, I will respond by saying that the beauty of open-source is that the project never truly dies, but people move on, and eventually someone else picks up where they left off, or they apply the knowledge gained from it to a new project, as is the case with Rob's work. For me, High Sign is no longer being maintained, and I've transitioned to other projects. I hope that High Sign will be seen as a positive contribution to the open-source community, and that in itself is all the satisfaction I require.

HOWEVER, one of the projects I'm working on is a Windows Phone application that incorporates the High Sign recognition engine, and will be available on the marketplace shortly.

Awesome work Rob!

Dylan Vester

New Post: Is this project dead?
However, I have picked up where I left off and have a finished app: http://www.strokesplus.com

It should be noted (as it is in the License.txt file that accompanies my app), that Dylan Vester is the genius behind the gesture recognition algorithm that he created for High Sign and without his work, my app wouldn't exist. The recognition is phenomenal and yet simple at the same time; it blows the doors off any other recognition I've encountered and he deserves mega-kudos!

You're welcome to hop over to my site; I'm always available and willing to address issues or field requests.

New Post: Is this project dead?
I've been looking for mouse gesture library for WPF. I have found simple library which handle up,down, left, right gesture but not advanced as this library.

I wonder if you can estimate how hard, or is it possible, to adapt this library for use with WPF application?

My suggestion is that every time I find an application I can't live without... one that modifies my workflow, my thought process, etc. I am completely stuck or insanely slow when I get to a machine where those programs or my setup do not exist. I run most of these programs from a USB key or from the web. I like my applications to be "green"... that is to say it's environmentally friendly - the app doesn't throw garbage all over the OS - no registry entries, no %appdata%, etc. The additional benefit is that the app can be run from my USB key and come with me to my other systems (I have 3 at home, 3 at work, and am the tech support for my friends and family). Saving time is critical. I've been bouncing between gmote and strokeit (vista and xp respectively). I use Opera, where I first learned mouse gestures and really can't live without them there.

So if I grow addicted to High Sign, the way I think I could, it would be quite frustrating to get to another box and not have my gestures. Proactively then, I am asking if that could be possible?

Thank you for reading.

New Post: Comments, features

Hi there. First, I wanted to let you guys know that I'm really excited about High Sign, it seems like it has really got a lot of promise, and it's already quite usable. Also, my experience with the code thus far has been quite good.

I'm running XP on a Mac, and I wanted to try out some mouse gestures. Right clicking and then dragging is a hassle (on a MacBook you have to do the two-finger click, then let go with one finger, then drag), so I wanted an open source gestures program that I could change so that instead of using right click + drag, I could use Ctrl + drag, or whatever hot-key; this eventually led me to High Sign. I hacked around in High Sign and got it working pretty nicely, and I would suggest that the feature might be useful to others, and might be something you could think of implementing (my implementation is more of a 'get it working' than 'get it right' sort of thing).

Anyway, great project, keep up the good work.
